As a member, you receive a rebate up to $29 a month to offset your transaction fees. It's possible to pay no fees using this Member Benefits system.

Other Transactions

There are other transactions you can do. For example, using a non-rediATM costs BDCU money. Of course it’s fine to do these transactions, but BDCU will pass the cost on to you.

As a member, you can transact any way that suits you. If you want to pay no fees, or keep them low, here are our tips:

Cheap Tactics

  • Consolidate your accounts. Close those you don’t use.
  • Make fewer transactions if you can. Withdraw larger amounts at ATMs.
  • Use RediATMs
  • Set your pay to come into your BDCU account. Then set up ‘Automatic Payments’ that shoot the money off to where it needs to go, such as your eAccess Savings, or your Christmas Account. ‘Automatic Payments’ are free.
  • BPAY, Internet Banking and Phone Banking transactions are cheap and eligible rebates
  • When buying something with EFTPOS, get cash out at the same time instead of using an ATM afterwards. It counts as one transaction.
  • BDCU doesn’t charge fees on Visa transactions where you press the Credit button.
  • If you make regular internet credits to another BDCU membership, ask us to set up an ‘Internal Transfer’. This will link their account to yours and you will pay no fees for those transactions.
  • Check your balances to make sure you have enough for payments. If you think you’ve come unstuck, give us a call on 02 4860 4000 beforehand. We are happy to move things around for you (if it’s not too late), so you don’t get a default or late payment fee.
