We would be happy to help you on your way.
Wealth creation is the process of creating prosperity and abundance. It is different to inheriting money, winning a lottery or finding money some other way. It is about managing finances in a methodical way in order to achieve a desired level of wealth - usually through investments.
Creating wealth is not a matter of luck, fate, class or upbringing. It's about being informed and self-motivated.
Have belief and courage. Few people are born with the innate skills to develop wealth. It's a learned behaviour. What the self-made wealthy do have in common is a particular attitude toward money. It's gratitude for what they have, coupled with the belief that it is possible to attract more and more, regardless of their starting point.
Know what wealth means to you. Specifically. This means it is not a moving target, it's fixed and achievable. Be as clear in your desire as possible. The more specific, the better.
Invest. Everybody should invest. Depending on your risk profile, it could be cash, terms deposits, property, Australian shares, an ethical fund, emerging markets, biotechnology, government bonds and debentures. An advisor should match your profile to suitable investment options.
Have expert advisors. It's not about knowing everything. Nobody does. It's about delegating to people who have the answers, and seeking expert recommendations from them. You don't need to start a diploma of financial planning to get ahead in life. You just need to talk to somebody who can make a Financial Plan with you.
A Financial Plan is a road map to get you the wealth and lifestyle you want. At BDCU, the process involves sitting down with an advisor who won't try to sell you anything, but will instead recommend a series of investment options that will suit you personally. Importantly, the options should not be limited to products offered by just one company.
Initial appointments with a BDCU Financial Advisor are free of charge and without obligation. If you decide to go ahead and have a customised plan called a Statement of Advice written uniquely for you, this then carries a fee. The fee depends on the complexity of the plan.
After this point, the advisor has the skills and contacts to place the agreed investments on your behalf. Then things get exciting. You realise that making money and working hard have less in common than most people think.
