More than 100 people attended the launch of the new Hospital Foundation in Goulburn, which aims to make specific improvements to the Goulburn Base Hospital and other health facilities and services.
"We're very pleased. There was a positive vibe in the room and it was good to see the community coming out to unite for a common goal," said Mathew Fruend who is the Goulburn Advice Centre manager and on the committee.
Committee member Nerida Cullen said the main message of the evening was that the hospital is for everyone.
"The Goulburn hospital is ours and we've got to look after it and make it as good as we can make it."
Plans are underway for fundraising initiatives that will help supply the hospital with resources it is unable to secure from state government.
The big turn-out for the launch and enthusiasm from Goulburn residents indicates this will be a successful endeavour for the shire.
